Stipend & Graduate Degree


Ottawa University, Kansas, seeks Graduate Assistant candidates for Marketing initiatives at the Ottawa, Kansas Campus to include graphic design and video production elements. 

Required Duties

  • Coordinate video production and interviews as needed.
  • Assist with planning, implementation and promotion of events.
  • Support the Marketing Manager on projects for the Ottawa, Kansas, campus, including event promotion, recruiting materials, video production, etc.
  • Work with various departments to successfully implement marketing plan.
  • Sustain good working relationships with vendors on projects.
  • Assist with maintenance and development of the Ottawa, Kansas, campus Web content, including social aspects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required skills and abilities:

  • Fluency in Microsoft Word and Excel; and Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • Knowledge of Adobe Premiere preferred
  • Ability to show initiative and leadership
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

The Graduate Assistant will assist the Marketing Manager in various aspects of the Kansas marketing department's initiatives: assist with planning, implementation and promotion of College events; coordinate video production and interviews as needed; support the Marketing Manager on projects for the Ottawa, OUMW Campus, including event promotion, recruiting materials, video production, etc.; work with various departments to successfully implement marketing plan; sustain good working relationships with vendors on projects; assist with maintenance and development of Web content, including social aspects; and other duties as assigned.

Graduate Program General Information
The selected candidates will be granted tuition waiver (18 credit hours per year) for one of Ottawa University's graduate programs, a partial meal allowance and a bi-weekly living stipend paid over 12 months. Renewals for a second year are based on the evidence of academic performance and quality execution of assigned duties.

An earned Bachelor's Degree in a related field and the ability to obtain admission into an Ottawa University graduate program is required (minimum undergraduate degree GPA of 3.0 is required, as well as other acceptance criteria).  Graduate school program information and degrees may be found at www.ottawa.edu. A valid driver's license and driving record which meet institutional requirements is required.    

Work assignment for Graduate Assistants will be approximately 29 hours a week, but will fluctuate with the demands of the sport and time of year.

International candidates are only eligible to pursue the on-campus MBA degree of the programs that are offered. International students must also be able to secure an F1 student visa and meet the international admissions criteria for acceptance into the Ottawa University MBA program.
